Popping and Casting Rods
Popping and casting rods are specialized sea rods designed for active fishing of large predators.
-
Popping rods – created for fishing with large surface lures (poppers), which are worked with sharp movements, imitating a struggling baitfish. They are strong, powerful, and usually between 2.4 and 3.0 m in length, to ensure long casts and control over the lure.
-
Casting rods – designed for fishing with heavy lures (jigs, wobblers, casting pilkers), where strength is required for long and accurate casts. They are usually slightly shorter and with a powerful action, which makes them suitable for trophy fish such as tuna, king mackerel, cubera, trevally, and GT.
The common feature of both types is their strength, durability, and ability to withstand intensive loads in sea fishing.
